Selous Fly Fishing offers professional training at our guide school. The guide school will be hosted by Arno Matthee. The aim of the course is to train top fresh water guides for the fly fishing industry.

Arno has fished and guided all over the world for the past 25 years. While guiding on the world famous Alphonse Island in the Seychelles, Arno decoded the elusive milk fish by developing the fly (Arno’s milky dream) and the technique to target these magnificent fish on fly. Arno has developed several other innovative fly patterns for different species, like the GT flashy profile, crab patterns and freshwater flies. He has written several articles on various species like tarpon, indo pacific permit, triggerfish, blue marlin, milkfish, yellow fish and fly tying. He has appeared on the cover of magazines like Wild on the Fly, Complete Fly Fisher Man and Fly Fishing in Salt water.He has also starred in appeared in several television fly-fishing programs on Supersport and ESPN. Arno is an explorer that continuously pushes the boundaries to open up new and exiting fisheries. He was instrumental in exploring remote atolls like Cosmoledo, Astove, Farquhar and Providence in the Seychelles. Arno has been exploring central West Africa for the past 6 years, targeting the world’s biggest tarpon on fly.
